Less Concrete, More Trails: Voting YES for Delco’s Open Spaces

Over the years, it has been exciting to see the positive changes our community has made towards preserving open space and keeping Delco wild. Whether it’s buying unwanted woods so we have new places to hike, creating trails on old railroads, or protecting the very water we drink by making sure the riparian buffer stays wild… there is so much to be proud of. And then a really amazing ballot item appears that could help cement our county's future as a beautiful natural place to live…

MTLC is excited to highlight an important ballot measure for Delaware County voters on Tuesday, November 3, 2026!

For just $24 per household, we can raise real money ($120-240 million) to solidify Delaware County as the beautiful natural place we’ve all come to love.

County voters will have the opportunity to vote YES on a land conservation bond measure. If approved, the measure authorizes up to $120 million to preserve open spaces, protect local drinking water and waterways, prevent flooding, and upgrade public parks and trails across Delaware County.

Why Vote YES?

  • High Impact, Low Cost: The measure is estimated to cost the average household just $24 per year.

  • Maximizes Investment: Passing the referendum allows Delaware County to leverage state and federal matching grant programs, stretching our local dollars even further to protect land from development.

  • Community & Environmental Benefits: Funds directly support natural habitats, clean water initiatives, and local greenway expansions throughout our municipalities.
